Senior ~ Jose

Friday, October 30th, 2009

I’ve always loved the Spanish language and culture. Last year I had the pleasure of teaching a full class that allowed me to get in touch with my love of the language and culture, and a part of this class was Jose. Jose, who will likely flash his great smile when reading this, would agree that he proved to give me a bit of a challenge in the beginning. It’s a good thing that 1. I like challenges and 2. I don’t give up easily. Had he asked me at this time last year to take his senior pictures, I would have rolled my eyes. Luckily, he saw the futility in trying to resist my persistence in the world of education, and we were able to see eye to eye, otherwise, you may never have been able to enjoy this killer smile.

And, just one little sneak of Rosario, Jose’s cousin.

Senior ~ Kevin

Kevin was the first senior I photographed this year who was a student in my class last year. Combine the fact that I spent a full year in the classroom with Kevin, know his mother from her time tutoring, and spent a trimester teaching Kevin’s older brother, I would say this was one comfortable session. Kevin is a second year drum major, and he was crowned Homecoming King this year in addition to playing basketball, excelling in academics, and participating in the youth group of his church. To make things even better, he plans to attend Texas A&M.

Newborn ~ Aaron

Sweet, sweet Aaron. This little guy was putty in my hands after a nice feeding from mom. He had the most precious little stretches and yawns – but the yawns stayed elusive for the camera. It was great to visit with Mom, Dad, and Grandmother during our time together. Thank you, all three, for allowing me to snuggle and love on Aaron!
