Family ~ Jordan

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Okay, so when I started photography, and even when I met up with Jordan’s for this shoot, I was n-e-r-v-o-u-s. Sweaty palms nervous. But, I had SO.MUCH.FUN! Maybe it was because they’re just a great family who has fun together. Maybe it was because little Claire is a hoot and refused to look at me, so I found myself clanking a railroad tie on the track and using a deep voice (trying to imitate her father) to get her to look at me. This, in turn, made Katie laugh, and Dean just though I was nuts (what’s new?!).

And for those of you concerned about a child sitting the middle of the railroad (like Jeremy and Dean), I could have grabbed Claire had a train come our way. I’m not that far away. And, we would have heard (and felt) it in plenty of time!

Wheee!

Newborn ~ Miranda

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Sweet baby Miranda. Every baby is a miracle and has a story, and Miranda’s is fantastic! See Miranda’s Mommy and Daddy had tried very hard to have a little baby. God’s timing and direction had lead them to seek the path of adoption. They had completed paperwork, training, home study, and just before it all came together, they discovered that God’s timing for pregnancy was NOW! Even as they were expecting, the Drs. told Mommy that she would miscarry. Nope. Then, she had the H1N1 Flu which is especially dangerous when pregnant. No problems. Then, in birth little Miranda was so ready to let out her big squeal, that she inhaled some fluid and had pneumonia. What a walking miracle story!

Do you think they love and adore her?

You want to grab those cheeks, don’t you?!

Itty bitty nose – too sweet!

Child ~ Claire

If you don’t love this adorable little face, well, there’s just something wrong with you! Doesn’t she have the sweetest smile? I love that her eyes light up and smile with her little mouth! And this little sweetie has an amazing story of how God has worked in her life (and her mom and dad’s) already – she had open heart surgery as a newborn. Mom and Dad have literally seen her sweet little heart!

Now, this is where sweet little Claire’s more strong willed side begins to come into play. See, Claire has figured out, much to her mother’s dismay, that she can take off the bow headband. No, she’s not being cute and putting it on, she’s being cute and taking it off while mom is saying, “Claire, stop that.” Notice the direction of her eyes – that’s mom! Can’t you hear her thinking, “Free at last, free at last!”
And she’s quite expressive, too! I probably encouraged her by laughing, but it was soooooo cute! He he! But, we sure had fun! (Click on the picture and you can see it larger)
