Newborn ~ Knox

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

I had so much anticipation waiting for this little guy to come through my door. The grandmother-to-be contacted me about a month prior to Knox’s debut so that we could get the schedule coordinated. Not only did she get a jump on scheduling, but she had some ideas – I LOVE ideas! After seeing the saddle from Henry’s session, she wanted to bring in Knox’s grandfather’s (did you follow that?) saddle from when he was a child! Both Knox’s dad and grandfather have ridden in this saddle, and now so has Knox! She also brought in a pair of grandfather’s boots, an antique family bowl, and an adorable yellow and black striped scarf and hat for the Steeler fans in the family!

I can’t tell you what a dream all the whole family was to work with! Everyone was so happy to have this new baby boy in their lives, and he is a treasure!

Newborn ~ Crew

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

This sweet little man with a head of hair that was just as gorgeous as he was walked through the door back in February. He’s part of the group that had five babies within five weeks of one another; obviously, there was something in their water!

I think the best thing about photographing a newborn baby is the reminder of what a miracle we all are. We start so tiny and helpless, and by God’s grace and love we grow to give life and love to others. The unwavering adoration and attention of a mother as she dedicates her life to the care of this tiny, helpless baby is monumental! Thank you, Karissa, for brining Crew to see me and allowing me to capture the first of a lifetime of memories.

One Year ~ Kyndell

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Normally I’m a fanatical chronological blogger, and it really hurts me to skip around, but I feel like I have to take advantage of these gorgeous bluebonnet pictures this year before they’re all gone! Miss Kyndell is celebrating her first birthday – that right – she’s one year old! Of course, we had to take advantage of the amazing bluebonnet crop before we got into a little cake smash celebration.

You have to appreciate a little girl who knows the importance of warming up before a big event! Check out Kyndell’s stretches!

So, after a little warm up, we had some play time with the chair. I knew when I saw this chair in Glen Rose that it had to be use for photography with children! The added bonus that you can’t see is that it rocks a little. Now to most of us that just means to take caution, but for little ones, it means fun!

And sometimes it’s just a sweet look that can melt your heart.
And from the chair, we ventured into the bluebonnet patch!
Finally, the little sweet pea went for one more big event – the cake smash! Although she started out a little doubtful, I think it was a “smashing” success (ha ha ha ha)!
