This sweet little girl captured my heart when I chased her (literally) for her one year pictures. She’s beautiful, isn’t she?

This one makes me yearn for warm weather (not the ‘make you sweat’ stuff, just warm) and for this spot to get green again. I think that when it does, when I’m not using it for sessions, I’ll go lay on a blanket there & read a book. Or, maybe I’ll just lay in the clover without the blanket

So, just a few weeks after this, Codie (the beautiful mom above) phoned. She’s been working on decorating her home, and as Texas style goes, had seen a lot of art that depicted cattle. [I must interrupt for a backstory. Just the day before her phone call, Jeremy had joked with me that I needed to photograph cattle for show. "That's where the REAL money is," he commented. I laughed, "What do I know about photographing cattle? I didn't show them, I know they moo; that's it."] Codie went on to tell me that she had been thinking that rather than cattle that she didn’t know, she’d love to have images of her cattle with little missy feeding them. I assured her that I was willing to give it the good ol’ college try, but that I didn’t know much about photographing cattle. Some people will say to “sell yourself” and “never admit what you don’t know to a client,” but I’m much more comfortable just being up front. I don’t know nuthin’ ’bout no cows (or steers, heifers, bulls, etc.).
Upon arriving, I met 23 and 24 (for real). I set up my lighting, and Codie staged the feed. I think we did pretty well…

But, really, I was drawn back to the sweet little beauty!

It’s also exciting because in just a few months (assuming all goes according to plan), this little beauty will be one of my new neighbors. And, I’ll have a studio in my home. Translation – I have a delightful model to try out ideas!
